This was one of my favorite DVD purchases of the past year. I can certainly see why some didn't like it though. Was it the philosophy or the story of the movie that you didn't like?

I thought it ended up working out rather well. I enjoyed the movie. It's one of those situations where I'm pleased ideas like this is brought to to fore rather than worrying about whether people are having the right kinds of existential crisis. What may be "a rather 2-dimensional existential crisis" to you is probably something many people have never before considered.
