So, the airline lost my luggage.

I only brought one bag, and it has everything in it, clothes, toiletries, my field camera and equipment. They don't know when they'll be able to get it to me.

Remarkably, I am fairly copascetic (sp?) about this. 24 hours without sleep, 16 or so of which were spent travelling, will do that to you. Or at least it will do it to me.

So, after eating a topic bar and slamming down a red bull (a deadly combination if ever there was one, but yay, they have red bull here in Ireland, and of course my favorite candy bar of all time, as Bryn can attest), I decided to ignore the mild hallucinations I was having (nothing big, just some interesting visuals. Probably ectoptic phenomena. I'll do some cave/rock art about them when this is all over) and wander Dublin in search of necessary toiletries and a change of clothes. U.S. Air tried to tell me that they'd authorize a remibursement of 20 euros for me to pick up necessary items. I was remarkably polite about telling them to eat my cock.

The most irritating part of all this (other than my atrocious sleep-deprived typing. I keep having to backtrack and correct) was the group of women on my flight who also lost a bag. One bag. For all of them. And they were incredibly and unnecessarily rude to the poor girls at the desk. And I just stood there calmly waiting until the girls got done with them, thinking that their rudeness wasn't going to deliver their bags to them any quicker, or make anybody's day any easier. I really had to bite down on telling them to bite me (which would have been just as bad and irritating as they were being).

I think it's why I'm a fan of Gaiman's Death. The philosophy that it doesn't take any more energy to be nice to someone than to be mean, and usually being nice is easier.

So.

I can't check into my hostel until 2:00. I'm going to wander the streets until then.
