Happy Yuletide! I've tried to give you thoughts to spark ideas, but if you have a bunny that you've been burning to write, please ignore my silly prompts and write that instead. As long as you avoid my DNWs, I prefer to get a fic that someone enjoyed writing to something where they had to backbend to please some random suggestion of mine.
I love all of these fandoms -- please don't take more words about a particular one as indication that I like it more. I just had more to say about some than about others. A fic in any one of them would make me extremely happy!

I love how messed up they are, both individually and as a couple. I love that Mo Ran is all ready to rush in... but maybe isn't the smartest husky in the pack. Poor boy is just eager and confused and doesn't realize how big his paws are. I love how Chu Wanning is brilliant and yet can't figure out human interaction to save his life. I love how they're devoted to each other anyways, and how they're better as a team than they are alone.
So really, anything that digs into those core aspects, I'm great with. I'm more or less caught up with the human translations, but I haven't read any of the MTL stuff. That being said, I've read enough fic to know most of the major spoilers, so don't shy away from that if you want to write end-game or post-canon fic.
Possible prompts:
Chu Wanning coming to terms with his own desires, especially the kinkier ones, with Mo Ran's help.
With these two, I'm a sucker for Modern Cultivators AUs and casefic (either separately or in combination).
I'm also down with one or both of them getting turned into their title namesakes (dumb husky, white cat) and softness/care around that. Maybe Chu Wanning finds a wounded pup at the same time his favorite student goes missing, or Mo Ran finds a surly cat at the same time his most hated professor that he's secretly crushing on goes missing. You know the drill!
If shippyness is not your thing, I love Chu Wanning as Xia Sini and would really adore something where they both get de-aged and have swashbuckling ten-year-old boy adventures together where Xia Sini is the brains and Mo Ran is the brawn.

Optional Details: Okay, this is possibly the most ridiculous and obscure request I have ever made, but if you matched me on one of my other fandoms but neither of them are singing to you, you can always treat this as a backup. The 'canon' is about ten minutes from this webtoon workshop where the presenter uses two characters to talk about how to streamline dialogue while building story and tension. Character A is a ghost. Character B is the ghost's living roommate who apparently just robbed a bank and wants the ghost to help him out. The ghost agrees, but only because finding another roommate they could stand would be a PITA.
AND I WANT TO KNOW MORE!
Go crazy with whatever original content you want. How did these two end up living together? How did the thief find out they were living with a ghost, and why are they so chill about it? Why the bank robbery? How do they get away with it (how does the ghost help?) What secret yearnings are they both hiding for each other? WHAT ARE THEIR NAMES?
I really just want the story of these two (though preferably shippy in nature, you can keep it platonic or pining if that's your jam).

See above about the questions I have. I usually have curtainfic on my DNW, but this is one where I'd be happy with domestic fic of their home life -- what it's like living with a ghost? What's it like living with an idiot mortal? Give me backstories, give me angst (but with a happy ending, please?), give me resolution (does the ghost come back to life/was really in a coma the whole time? Does the mortal die and they spend the rest of their unlife happily together and/or getting another roommate who is just as ridiculous as the thief? Let your creativity run wild!

I guess two out of three doesn't quite form a pattern, but it sure feels like one with these two 'ghost roommate' requests!
This is a recent watch for me, and it hits my love for several 'forbidden love' tropes - ghost and mortal, mentor and student, different worlds/cultures (in this case, the eras they grew up in).
If you write a romantic relationship between these two, then I'd like it to be set years after canon, when Shi Guang has grown up and become his own person. I didn't list Yu Liang in my request, but if that's your jam then I'm also very okay with Shi Guang being interested in Yu Liang and Chu Ying playing his wingman for that. Mostly, I just want the focus to be on the friendship/relationship between Shi Guang and Chu Ying.
If you'd rather keep it platonic, I'd love more insight into their friendship, especially Chu Ying's perspective - what does he think about this strange world, etc.
As for some other prompts:
Something where Shi Guang goes back to Chu Ying's time and has to mentor *him* in Go, or change fate so Chu Ying's reputation doesn't suffer in the cheating incident and he never becomes the spirit of Go (maybe he's released into the reincarnation cycle instead and meets Shi Guang in the modern day, now alive?)
Shi Guang learns the 'true' story about the cheating episode -- that Chu Ying was the emperor's lover, and he got tossed aside when the emperor's interest moved on to the cheating guy. This can be on its own as backstory, or as part of something that Chu Ying shares with Shi Guang as part of Chu Ying and adult Shi Guang realizing romantic feelings for each other, or to prompt Shi Guang to pursue a relationship with Yu Liang.
Some sort of freaky friday body swap (or straight up possession) where Chu Ying gets to be in control or corporeal for a while. Or time swap of the Your Name variety where Chu Ying finds himself in the present in Shi Guang's body and Shi Guang finds himself in the past as Chu Ying -- maybe even for the fatal cheating episode where he foils the plan?
I really just hate cheater guy and want to see him get his come-uppance :D
I don't need fix-it fic for Chu Ying, but if you feel like writing it, I'd love something that gives us a perfect happy ending.
