Dear Author,

Happy Yuletide! I've tried to give you thoughts to spark ideas, but if you have a bunny that you've been burning to write, please ignore my prompts and write that instead. As long as you avoid my DNWs, I prefer to get a fic that someone enjoyed writing over something where they had to backbend to please some random suggestion of mine.

I love all of these fandoms -- please don't take more words about a particular one as indication that I like it more. I just had more to say about some than about others. A fic in any one of them would make me extremely happy!

Also, if you wandered to this letter because you like my requested fandoms, I love getting non-assigned giftfics and treats!

1. Fandom: The Green Bone Saga - Fonda Lee

I mainlined this series at the beginning of this year, and I *still* have a book hangover from it. I've read a lot of good stuff this year, but nothing else quite gutted me the way this one did. And the part that gutted me the most was a certain death in the middle of book 1, and the fact that the person responsible just completely got away with it. When I finished the series and read that last scene, I pinged a friend in chat with the "You mean he wins? Jesus, Grandpa, what did you read me this thing for?" screenshot from The Princess Bride. It's honestly a great ending and I wouldn't change canon, but... that's what fanfic is for!

So yeah, give me closure, of whatever kind you prefer.

Fandom-specific DNW: Please no romantic or sexual relationship between requested characters

Possible prompts:

Ghost revenge from beyond the grave where Kaul Lan's very pissed off ghost is responsible for all of Bero's bad luck over the years.

Some sort of jade possession where 'the jade remembers' and when Bero puts on Kaul Lan's jade, Kaul Lan is able to possess him and then has to convince his family he's himself and not this dumb kid.

Feel free to bring in other characters -- Kaul Hilo, Emery Anden, the Maiks, etc., but I'd like for Kaul Lan to be an active force/presence for his own revenge.

If you'd rather mostly focus on the Kauls, then some kind of goodbye closure between Kaul Lan, Kaul Hilo, and Emery Anden would also be just lovely. Or even something with Niko. Maybe they're both revenge ghosts from beyond the grave, father/son teamup!

2. Fandom: 苍兰诀 | Love Between Fairy and Devil (TV)

I love so many of the relationships in this show (romantic and friend) and I feel like it could have been ten episodes longer just giving us more romance/friendship/bromance content. I'm particularly a fan of the following combos:

The friendship of service and undying loyalty between Dongfang Qingcang and Shang Que
The rivalmance-but-also-sworn-brotherhood between Dongfang Qingcang and Chang Heng
The fraught brotherly conflict between Dongfang Qingcang and Xun Feng
The sapphic 'wordly-friend/naive-friend' bond between Xiao Lan Hua and Jie Li
The opposites-attract 'lawful fighter/chaotic rogue' romance between Shang Que and Jie Li
The 'curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!' doomed friendship between Chang Heng and Rong Hao.

So yeah, you can really pick any one (or more) of those combinations and I'd be happy.

Fandom-specific DNW: I don't have a problem with the titular romance, but I'd rather not get a fic that focuses on the romance between Dongfang Qingcang and Xiao Lan Hua. We already have plenty of that. I want more of what we didn't get! You can keep your focus on friendship or move it into shippy realms, whichever you prefer. I'm happy with either.

Bodyswap is one of my favorite tropes, and we didn't get NEARLY enough bodyswap shenanigans. I'd love to see something where Dongfang Qingcang as Xiao Lan Hua has to interact with/romance/flirt with Chang Heng -- maybe even get married/fall in love. Or more fun where Shang Que and Jie Li are the only one in the know and they need to help Dongfang Qingcang and Xiao Lan Hua navigate the dangers of court, etc. with associated hijinks and bonding (Shang Que with Xiao Lan Hua, Dongfang Cingqang with Jie Li).

Backstory on the undying friendship between Dongfang Qingcang and Shang Que would be awesome. Ditto on the friendship between Xiao Lan Hua and Jie Li.

And if you want to do something where those four form a polycule, even better. I'd love to see how each pairing in that polycule would vibe. Like... Dongfang Qingcang and Jie Li working out their dynamic would be hi-larious.

3. Fandom: 철인왕후 | Mr. Queen (TV)

Optional Details:

I have a love/hate relationship with this show. As in, I loved most of it, right up until the ending (which, like many people, I hated). Jang Bong Hwan goes through this amazing character growth and gets to a place where he can embrace the fluidity of his own gender identity and fall in love with a man in a relationship of equals. And then it just gets yanked out from under us - he goes back to the future with seemingly little impact or angst over losing people he came to care about, and we're supposed to accept that Cheoljong's affection and depth of feeling has just transferred on to Kim So Yong, and he doesn't miss the actual PERSON HE FELL IN LOVE WITH at all?! It's a tragedy, and it made me want to throw things.

So gimme fix-it fic, of whatever flavor pleases you. I'm all for justice for Kim So Yong -- maybe she goes on to live her best life in the present day as Jang Bong Hwan -- but I'd prefer to have the focus be on resolving things better between Jang Bong Hwan and Cheoljong

Fandom-specific DNW: I generally DNW sexism, homophobia, and transphobia, but I'm making a qualified exception here because all of these are part of Jang Bong Hwan's character journey. So if you feel you need to include references to these as either a part of that journey or as a reflection of how he was wrong and has learned/changed/grown as a person, I'm good with that. I'd rather it not be the focus of the fic, though. I also usually DNW Mpreg, but I make an exception in this case because it's basically canon.

Possible prompts:

Missing scene or alternate take on the consummation night where Jang Bong Hwan is aware and eagerly consenting (or tender comedy morning after where he relishes instead of regrets or represses).

More exploration of the changing nature of Jang Bong Hwan's friendship with the consort crew and his own growing comfort with his genderfluidity (as he gets a more nuanced perspective on femininity/masculinity) -- maybe Cheoljong confronts him with a bit of pouting jealousy and JBH reassures him that he only has eyes for him.

Bonding over food/cooking - I love when food porn and competence porn collide, and JBH excels here. I love how he takes pride over his skills and wanted more chances for him to show off for his boo.
