May. 18th, 2004 10:34 amToday I saw my first cicada of the season. It was sitting alone on the hood of a car, and looked rather like the guy who shows up to the party, only to discover that it's been cancelled.
I have to say that, as plagues go, this one is pretty lame.

I also got really freaked out when walking to a girlfriends house and I was trailing my hand along the hedge-fence only to pull it back *covered* in gross hollow shell things. Ick.

I will build a wide brimmed hat with mosquito netting so I can continue to go to school.
