Bush is nominating Roberts for Rehnquist's Chief Justice position.

Fucker hasn't even been confirmed yet (but he probably will be).

Y'know, for all that Rehnquist's death was hardly a blip on the news horizon, it may have almost as many long-term (if more insidious) repercussions as Kat.

I can actually see Kat play into a speedy confirmation for Roberts too. After all, isn't the hue and cry all about govt slowness and red tape right now? There's a lot of spin there to be turned aganst anyone who makes the confrimation hearings too long or tough.
