May. 8th, 2007 12:11 amI wasn't tapped for this. I'm only doing it because I ran into it while doing/avoiding my welsh homework, which happens to be translating the first Harry Potter book. The gods conspire against me.
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 23.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next three sentences in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.
6. Tag five other people to do the same.
Fyddai ei fodryb a'i ewythr byth yn sôn amdanyn nhw, ac wrth gwrs fe'i gwaharddwyd rhad gofyn cwestiynau. Doedd dim lluniau ohonyn nhw yn y tŷ. Pan oedd o'n iau, breuddwydiai Harri yn aml y byddai rhyw berthynas na wyddai ddim amdano'n dod i fynd ag o i ffwrdd, ond ni ddigwyddodd; y Dursleys oedd ei unig deulu.
Which, as everyone knows, means:
His aunt and uncle never mentioned them, and of course he was prohibited from asking questions. There weren't any pictures of them in the house. When he was young, Harry often dreamed that some relation that he didn't know about would come to take him away, but it didn't happen; the Dursleys were his only family.
(a quick glance at the English version and I'm almost on. It says "His aunt and uncle never spoke about them, and of course he was forbidden to ask questions. There were no photographs of them in the house. When he had been younger, Harry had dreamed and dreamed of some unknown relation coming to take him away, but it had never happened; the Dursleys were his only family.")
